COVID-19 Update | October 29, 2020

Our community has received results from our latest round of COVID-19 testing at the Hodges Center, which was conducted on Monday, October 26. We’re grateful to report that we identified no new positive cases of the virus among Residents and Team Members.

It has also come to our attention that several active cases that we reported last week may have been false positives, as indicated by two subsequent negative tests. We are working closely with The Health Department to confirm these findings and determine the next course of action.

All impacted individuals are still doing well and are currently experiencing no symptoms. Two Residents and one Employee are considered recovered after consecutively testing negative twice.

Of course, we still mourn our two COVID-positive Residents who passed away in early October. Our thoughts and prayers continue for their families.

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) inspected our infection control and quality measures last week. In a testament to our Team Members’ efforts and Residents’ cooperation, we were found to be in full compliance with no noted deficiency areas. A DHHR inspection is standard protocol for any long-term care provider with an active outbreak of COVID-19 to ensure all State requirements are being met.

We’re extremely thankful to our Staff, who are going above and beyond each day to care for Residents during this challenging period. Their poise and commitment highlight how much our community values everyone who lives and works here.

We will provide further updates as new information becomes available. Thank you for your continued well wishes.
