As the only locally owned nonprofit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Charleston, our unique structure controls costs of future care and separates Edgewood Summit from other senior living options.
Because so much is included in the lifestyle and plan for future care, the costs of senior living are paid for differently at Edgewood Summit than at communities with fewer offerings.
Residents pay a highly refundable entrance fee to move into independent living, along with a Monthly Service Package. Together, these fees cover things like meals, utilities, and all community services and amenities – and entitle you to our unique health care discount.
When you move into independent living, you’re protected against the ever-rising costs of long-term care on the open market. If you ever need any level of senior care*, you’ll enjoy a 20% discount off market rates – for life.
For independent living, the entrance fee and Monthly Service Package will vary, depending on the size and location of the residence you choose, as well as your number of residents.
To ensure ongoing value, the entrance fee is highly refundable to you or your estate, providing asset protection as well as a plan for your future.

For all residences, there is an additional $1,650 per month fee for a second person.
